Can it charge from my solar?

Yes, solar-diverting and excess-only modes are supported on Zappi, Hypervolt and Wallbox units. We configure this on install.

Am I eligible for the OZEV grant?

Renters and flat-dwellers are eligible (£350 off). Owner-occupiers in houses are no longer eligible, but workplace and fleet schemes still apply.

Do I need three-phase for 22kW?

Yes. Most UK homes are single-phase (max 7kW). Three-phase is common in commercial buildings and some rural / new-build properties.

Will my home circuit handle a 7kW charger?

Yes, modern UK domestic supplies are rated for it. We install on a dedicated circuit with Type B protection so it never trips the rest of the house.

Why charger choice (and tariff) matters more than you think.

Public rapid charging in the UK now runs 70–90p/kWh, more expensive per mile than petrol. Charge at home on the wrong tariff and you're paying ~30p/kWh. Charge at home on Octopus Intelligent (~7p/kWh) and an electric car costs roughly 1.5p per mile. The charger you install determines which of those numbers applies to you.

We install OZEV-approved chargers from Zappi, Hypervolt, Ohme, Wallbox and Tesla. All support smart-tariff scheduling, meaning the car only charges when electricity is cheapest. Several support solar-following mode, so the car charges on excess solar generation only, never pulling from the grid during the day.

Three-phase homes (and most commercial sites) qualify for 22kW chargers, a full charge in 1–2 hours. Single-phase domestic gets 7kW, which is plenty for overnight top-ups. Either way, every install includes Type B RCD protection, a dedicated EV circuit, and full DNO notification where required.

For workplace and destination charging we deliver multi-bay sites with load balancing, RFID/contactless billing, OCPP back-office integration and ongoing maintenance. Whether you're charging two vans or fifty, the design principles are the same: pick the right hardware, integrate with the right tariff, and make sure the install actually delivers the cost-per-mile the spec sheet promises.
