Solar is now a commodity for some installers, cheap panels, string inverters, two lads on a roof, in and out in a day. That's why so many UK systems quietly underperform by 15–30% within five years. Glacier was built on the opposite principle: design first, components second, install third, every project signed off by a senior engineer.

We start with a structural and shading survey. We model your roof in PV*SOL against half-hourly Met Office data so you see realistic kWh, not best-case marketing numbers. We pair Tier-1 monocrystalline panels (typically REC, JA Solar Bifacial or Aiko) with module-level optimisers, so a single shaded panel never throttles the rest of the array.

On the inverter side, we install SolarEdge or Tesla as standard. SolarEdge optimiser inverters make it straightforward to add a retrofit battery later; Tesla's hybrid inverter comes with battery storage built in as standard. Both carry extended warranties, export half-hourly data to your phone, and support EV chargers and smart-tariff control. Cabling, isolation and DC routing are documented to MCS spec, the kind of detail that determines whether your system still performs in year 20.

The result: a system that pays back inside 5–7 years, generates predictable savings for 25+ years, and adds measurable value to the property when you sell.
